Following 28 years of administration by Camelot, the UK National Lottery will shift to Allwyn, a branch of the Sazka Group, in February 2024. This resolution, declared by the Gambling Commission, comes after a rigorous bidding contest where Allwyn’s proposition was judged superior in raising funds for charitable endeavors and revitalizing the National Lottery.

Making its UK entrance with this undertaking, Allwyn takes on a heritage that has donated over £45 billion (roughly $58.64 billion) to 660,000 benevolent projects spanning the arts, athletics, cultural heritage, and local communities since 1994.

The Chair of the Allwyn bid, Sir Keith Mills, conveyed privilege and eagerness in taking on the management of this “national gem.” He stressed their dedication to the Gambling Commission’s objective and outlined strategies to re-engage the British populace by emphasizing the Lottery’s importance to individuals and neighborhoods.

A changeover strategy, spearheaded by Justin King, is already in motion to guarantee a seamless transfer when Camelot’s agreement terminates.

Being selected to manage the National Lottery has filled us with immense excitement,” shared Justin King, the director of Allwyn UK. “Our plan centers on expansion – increasing the funds allocated to charitable endeavors while ensuring the entire operation remains secure and responsible.” He commended the Gambling Commission for their meticulous evaluation and their unwavering emphasis on the lottery’s trajectory. “The National Lottery holds a special place in British society,” King continued. “We are committed to enhancing it further by attracting a wider player base, bolstering its safeguards, and ultimately, generating greater revenue for the initiatives that benefit everyone.”
