“It is asserted that the Brentford FC attacker violated FA Rule E8 on 232 instances between 25 February 2017 and 23 January 2021.”
Toney had aspirations of representing England at the 2022 World Cup, but despite his outstanding performance for Brentford, he was ultimately excluded from Gareth Southgate’s team.
It is noteworthy that these alleged betting activities reportedly occurred before Toney’s arrival at Brentford, and there are no implications that he ever bet against his own club.
