Aristocrat Leisure, an Australian gaming firm, has hired former Sony executive Superna Kalle as its Chief Strategy and Content Officer.

Kalle will begin her new role at Aristocrat on October 9, 2023. She spent 16 years at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she was in charge of developing its Asian television network business. She then served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sony’s American television network division.

Later, streaming platform Starz International hired Kalle as its President. In this position, the executive led the platform’s launch in over 60 countries.

Aristocrat CEO Trevor Crocker stated he was “delighted” to have Kalle join the company’s leadership team.

“Superna will be a key player in driving our group’s growth strategy and utilizing Aristocrat’s industry-leading intellectual property as part of our endeavors,” he said.

“Superna has extensive experience in maximizing the value of content strategy across a variety of consumer media industries. I look forward to her contributions and warmly welcome her to the role.”

Kalle said on LinkedIn that she was “thrilled” to join the team.

“I’ve had a wonderful few months off, recharging, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.”

The realm of gaming is encountering fresh hurdles and prospects.

Aristocrat’s merger and acquisition approach will bolster its online expansion.
Kalle will spearhead Aristocrat’s strategy as the company is poised to finalize its takeover of online lottery provider NeoGames. This will pave the path for the enterprise to broaden its reach in the domain.

Aristocrat declared the $1.2 billion transaction in May. This will witness the Australian gaming entity acquire 100% of the firm for $29.50 per share.

Upon disclosing the news, Crocker stated that the consolidated entity will be able to attain Aristocrat’s objective of delivering a comprehensive online gaming, online lottery, and online sports betting solution.

In 2022, the firm outlined its blueprints to expedite its online strategy through a sequence of acquisitions.

Consequently, the company asserted that it will concentrate on the US market, aiming to seize a substantial portion of the online supplier market.

This “build and buy” approach follows the company’s unsuccessful acquisition of Playtech. The agreement disintegrated after failing to secure sufficient shareholder backing.

Subsequently, the supplier announced that it would acquire UK gaming supplier Roxor Games for an undisclosed sum.
