The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) has issued a caution to consumers against engaging in wagering on illicit online platforms situated in the United States.

Pagcor’s alert follows media reports that Starspangled200.org was employed by fraudsters to direct users to unlawful gambling sites in the Philippines.

The website address was printed on license plates of nearly 800,000 registered vehicles in Maryland to promote the state’s historical significance. However, the web address redirects to Globeinternational.info, which is used to illegally offer gambling services.

Pagcor Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco stated that this practice infringes upon the rights of players and tarnishes the Philippines’ reputation for secure and legal gambling.

“Pagcor has no connection with the aforementioned website and the gambling operations that occur on it,” Tengco said. “As the nation’s gambling regulator, Pagcor does not permit unauthorized online gambling.

“Engaging in or placing bets on illicit gambling activities is not only a criminal offense; it also deprives the government of billions of pesos in revenue, which could have been allocated to fund priority projects that would benefit a greater number of Filipinos.”

Thus, weve been collaborating with multiple governmental bodies and law enforcement organizations to guarantee that our gaming regulations are in place and that the online gaming platforms we oversee are secure and dependable.

Tenco stated that the issue has been forwarded to security and surveillance units for further examination. Furthermore, the website has been submitted to pertinent government agencies.

**Regulatory Actions**

The caution follows a series of regulatory decisions issued by Pagcor in recent weeks. Last month, Pagcor revoked the license of Sun Valley Clark, citing that the company’s facilities were being utilized for illicit activities.

Previously, the license of CGC Technologies, which occupied six buildings at the center of Sun Valley, was revoked last week after investigations revealed the company’s participation in illegal activities.

Pagcor has also recently issued warnings to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) involved in illegal activities.

Tenco encouraged all offshore licensees and service providers in the nation to operate within the bounds of their licenses.
