The Mississippi sports betting industry experienced a downturn in July, marking its lowest point in twelve months. The state collected $2.9 million in revenue, a decrease from the previous month’s $3.2 million. This marks the fourth consecutive month of declining revenue. Although the revenue surpassed last July’s figures, which were affected by the pandemic, it still represents a considerable drop. The state’s betting volume also experienced a decline, reaching its lowest point since last July. This is likely attributed to a combination of factors, including the conclusion of major sporting seasons and the return to a more regular schedule of events. Casinos along the coast performed slightly better than those in the central region, while northern casinos generated the least revenue.
